Traditional and Digital
Yuka and I collaborated on a new project which is a sugar-print map of the sugar railway in Taiwan. The sugar railway was built in the early 20th century when Taiwan was under the colony of Japan.
This time we work on it with our special background between design and digital technology. Because of the pandemic, we can’t meet up in person since the global lockdown started earlier this year. The solution for our collaboration is working on the internet. We divided the task with our specialty that Yuka worked on the design part and I can fabricate these designs into objects from her data.
That’s how we develop our skills together in this difficult situation, and we’ve overcome the challenges to finish this project in October.
