Although people living in Taiwan are quite safe from the COVID-19 pandemic, the international lockdown has deeply affected international travel and connection. I was wondering if there’s anything we can do to help more people from different countries.
Earlier this year, I joined an online community “OSMS(Open Source COVID-19 Medical Supplies)” which is a group of people who are interested in making personal medical supplies for providing their local hospitals and communities all over the world. Because the situation has been really difficult that even some medical professionals can’t get enough resources to protect themselves. So people founded this group as a platform to help each other.
In OSMS, members have very different backgrounds, such as doctors, nurses, designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, organization leaders, … The most important thing is we can share our knowledge and data from where we are, and others can use the digital fabrication to make their supplies without the shipping time. That can help a lot to the frontline medical professionals and patients.
